Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! =)

I hope you guys will have a wonderful year with a lot of luck ahead of you! =)

Sorry that I haven’t been posting lately. It’s because I’ve been super busy preparing for the New Year =). I will try to resume once New Year is over. (Fyi, we celebrate our New Year for one week straight).

REVIEW: The Body Shop Eye Makeup Remover

Posted by GreenTeaHoney in 26 January, 2011

Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

I got this along with many products from The Body Shop during their “up to 60% sale” after Christmas and New Year. I must say that this $8.00 was a waste as a makeup remover. I was really hyped up about the decent price ($8 for an 8.4 fl oz) so I went ahead and bought 3 bottles, thinking that I will share them with my sisters. After I gave it a few tries and saw that the results were still the same: bad, I hurrily returned the remaining 2 bottles.

If you’re planning to use this as a lid cleaner or eyeshadow remover, then it works fine. However, it did a horrible job removing my drugstore mascara’s, let along department’s.  I was still left with mascara on my lashes and my undereyes were as dark as a panda’s eyes. Also, while waiting for it to “break down” the mascara, somehow it made its way into my eyes and  I felt the burn!!!

Overall, I can firmly say this is an item I regret buying for January 2011. It is now sitting on my shelf and I seldomly use it as an eyeshadow/eyebrown remover or lid cleaner.

Cute eyeshadow palettes by Tokidoki

Posted by GreenTeaHoney in 24 January, 2011

I haven’t been into eyeshadows, or at least not yet. But I must say I am a sucker when it comes to cute packages! =P

I recently ordered 6 limited edition palettes from Stila. I think when I got them, I’ll store them in a safe place and not touch them because they’re too cute to be used Lol. Well, as I was browsing Sephora.com, I saw these cute Tokidoki items that are newly launched. I fell in love with them right away and am saving up to buy them! =D

Siberia Blush Brush
Siberia Blush Brush - $25
Cute or what? It’s especially more tempting when my favorite color is PINK! =P

Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette - Bastardino
Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette – Bastardino – $25
I think this is a good palette for everyday use since the colors are pretty neutral. And look! It comes with a cute lil charm! Aww… =)

Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette - Adieu
Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette – Adieu – $25
Nice purple colors. They look super pigmented! I’m just worried if I don’t know how to apply them, I’ll look like I have black eyes. Yikes! >_<

Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette - Mozzarella
Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette – Mozzarella – $25
I don’t think this palette in particular will look flattered on me because I’m a warm-tone. The package and Mozzarella charm looks cute, nevertheless =P

Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette - Polpettina
Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette – Polpettina – $25
Out of the four palettes, I think this gets the highest chance of being purchased by me because…it’s PINK! Hehe… I must say I like this palette the most =). The charm looks super adorable too! <3

Mascara haul

Posted by GreenTeaHoney in 23 January, 2011

I have a strange addiction lately: mascaras. Not quit sure why but I just want to buy any cute mascara’s out there on the market, from drugstore’s to department’s.

Here is my little mascaras collection. I know that is A LOT of mascaras and I think it will take me a lifetime to use all of it Lol!… Don’t worry, I plan on sharing it with my family and friends anyways =D.

There will be reviews on these mascaras, but for now they are just for show and tell =P
Please note that some mascaras in this bunch were purchased a while back and some might have been discontinued.

  1. Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Waterproof
  2. Wet ‘n Wild MegaProtein
  3. Clinique High Impact   (I got this as a sample from Clinique)
  4. Benefit BADgal lash
  5. Wet ‘n Wild MegaLash Serum (This is not a mascara. It’s a serum that supposed to lenghten your lashes.)
  6. Wet ‘n Wild MegaLash Mascara
  7. Rimmel Day 2 Night
  8. Wet ‘n Wild LashIntense
  9. Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara
  10. Rimmel Glam’Eyes
  11. Maybelline Stiletto
  12. Rimmel Sexy Curves
  13. Wet ‘n Wild MegaVolume
  14. Wet ‘n Wild MegaWink
  15. L’Oreal Double Extend
  16. Beauty Rush Mascara (brown)
  17. CoverGirl LashExact
  18. Wet ‘n Wild MegaLength
  19. Wet ‘n Wild MegaPump
  20. Maybelline Full ‘N Soft
  21. L’Oreal Shocking Volume Waterproof  (I believe this product is discontinued.)

I know I bought a lot of Wet ‘n Wild mascaras, but I could not help it. Walgreen was having a Wet ‘n Wild 50% off sale and most of their mascaras rang up to be around $1.00! I hope my lashes won’t fall out because of them! Lol… *crossing fingers*

By the way, please excuse my inexperienced photography skill =D.

Sorry my dear American Express card!

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I last udpated. I’ve been busy running around like a headless chicken trying to get all of my grad school paperwork done (but it’s still not completed >_<). But of course,  I spared a lot of my time for beauty/cosmetic shopping Lol!… I have A LOT to update since I hauled sooo many things within the span of 2 weeks! Oh man, ~$1,000.00 spent in TWO weeks?!?!…. o_O  Money must be growing on my backyard trees Lol!…

I feel so bad about my AmEx card which has been abused by moi. I hope this will not happen again anytime soon Lol. Hopefully hauls like these only come once every blue moon Lol!

Well, it’s getting late and I’m a bit tire today so I’ll update later about the items that I recently bought and my reviews of them.

Good night, everyone! =D

Nice & Naughty List 2010

Posted by GreenTeaHoney in 12 January, 2011

I have been wanting to do this tag from Jen (frmheadtotoe) on an official blog since I first knew about it, but I didn’t get a chance to create a blog until now. I know I’m super duper late, but I hope it’s late than never =D.

This tag is basically about 5 beauty items that worked out great and 5 beauty items that weren’t too great for you in the year  2010. I think it’s a pretty cute tag and below are my two lists & they aren’t listed in any particular order.

::naughty list::

1. Maybelline Expert Eyes Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

This is a product that I regret buying the most. It barely removed my waterproof mascara no matter how long I dampened my eyes in it. Not only that, my eyes couldn’t see clearly because they were so cloudy and oily. It ended up in my trash bin because I didn’t want to pass down this nightmare >_<.

2. E.L.F. 2 in 1 Conditioning Gloss
Bedazzled

Sure it looks beautiful in the tube, but I got no color from it, not even a bit of tinting. The texture is very, very gluey.

3. Lieole Secret Pore Rich Palm

I was hoping that this balm covers up my enlarged pores like Porefessional by Benefit, but I was wrong. I felt like I applied wax on my face and my liquid/creme foundation were so streaky where I applied this balm.

4. Sephora Anti-shine Primer
"Tricks of the Trade" Anti-Shine Primer

When I primed my face with this primer, my foundation was having a hard time gliding on my face. It leaved a sticky resedue.
The only positive thing about this primer is the scent. It smells awesome. (Now, for those with sensitive skin or don’t like scented products, I would say that the scent is too strong for you.)

5. Missha Perfect Cover BB cream #31

This was my 1st BB cream and I liked it before I went out and explore other options. It definitely lives up to its name: “perfect cover” because I could barely see my flaws with just one light application and no concealer. I also noticed that my skin was lighter after 1 month of using it. However, the undertone is TOO pink (I used #31) and cast a strange, dark color for my lips. Also, my friend (Sandy), broke out badly because of it.

::nice list::

 1. Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne Scrub

Wonderful facial wash. It removes even the toughest waterproof eye makeups. My face feels squeaky clean after used and the scent is super duper refreshing! =D

2. O HUI Pore Tightening Controlle 2.0
OHUI Clinic Science Pore Tightening Controller 2.0 by O HUI
I would laminate this thing in gold if I could afford gold!!! I saw a HUGE improvement with my pores.  ♥ ♥ ♥

3. Laneige Sebum Control Primer

Keeps my face matte and reduces my sebum production. My makeup takes longer to fade, but it still fades. Then again, I couldn’t keep anything on my face for long =o(

4. Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX

My face looks like it drank gallons & gallons of water everytime I put this on overnight! I get lazy when it comes to masks because they  tedious to me, but using this sleeping pack is just like putting on an extra layer of moisturizer. It soaks in quickly and leaves no mess on your pillows.

5. Sephora Professionel Platinum Brushes
Make Up Artist Brush Belt Set ($422 Value)
(Note: I didn’t buy this artist belt set. This is just a demonstration.)
I love my soft, easy to maintain brushes.  They help putting on makeup every morning a bit easier =)

That concluded my 2010 Naughty & Nice List =o). I hope that was helpful to you if you are considering any of these products.

Thanks Jen, for the tag =o). I also tag everybody who reads this & wants to share. Simply post your video link or blog link in the comments area.

Green Tea

Hi from GreenTeaHoney =o)

Posted by GreenTeaHoney in 12 January, 2011

Hello all!

This will OFFICIALLY be my 1st post as a cosmetic junkie! Yay! *dancing*

WARNING: This is a boring post about me and why this blog was “brewed” =o).

Only recently had I been into skin care & make up products. The obsession was unexpected and started out oddly, actually.

A little background about me:

I had a bad skin history when I started my high school. My skin was HORRIBLE with all of the break-outs and SUPER BIG zits! I tried almost every products that there had to offer in the market, from high-ends to low-ends. I even tried remedies, even the crazy ones, but I didn’t see an improvement. My self-esteem was very low and I belittled myself for having such an “ugly” visage. I didn’t feel like making friends, going out, or seeing anyone. It was definitely a very tough time for me. That is until I tried Lancôme. Their products did wonders to my skin. I started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and I was very happy. However, I was left with scars on my face: my pores are enlarged and are clearly visible within an arm-length distance. I didn’t think much about the enlarged pores because I was too happy that my skin cleared up and my face is no longer a beehive.

I still clean my face with a facial cleanser, use SPF moisturizer in the morning, but I wasn’t into make-up. The only times I had on makeup are those special occasions, and by the time I got home, I was out and didn’t want to bother with my face. Yes, I knew I’m not supposed to have makeup on going to sleep, but I was too lazy and had no self-motivation for such thing.

I used to think that beauty was a waste of time & money.

Only this summer had I picked up Korean dramas again. (Boys Before Flowers was my obsession <3.) Have you ever noticed that most Korean ladies have beautiful skin??? I wouldn’t say flawless, but they do have smooth and hydrated skin, even older ladies. And so, this is when I started realizing that I need to start taking care of my skin NOW before it’s too late. I want to minimize my pores so that I can have smooth & hydrated skin when I get older =P.

My first bought Korean product was Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #31. I saw that my skin got lighter (as the BB cream promised), so my trust for Korean products grew. Plus, my deduction is that Korean ladies have such beautiful skin, so there must be something that they’re doing right that we’re not doing. Also, I am an Asian girl, so I think that Asian skincare & cosmetic products are more suited for me than the “western” ones. (Call me naïve if you want =P)

I didn’t get into this obsession alone, of course =P. I dragged my middle-school friend, Sandy, into buying a whole line of Laneige (for me) and IOPE (for her) skin care & make up products. She was hesitant, but now she loves her Korean products! Her skin is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel too & I’m happy for her =0).

So yea… I know that this is a super duper long for an intro post, but I want to share with you where I’m coming from as a cosmetic junkie =o).

I hope that my 2 cents will help you with your beauty journey =o).
